This project started with the request to build a retaining wall for the hillside home. The existing wall had been eroding over the years and needed to be secured. Through extensive grading and boulder retention, we restructured the property with a boulder wall to function as a retaining wall but feel like a more organic space. 

We illuminated the garden features with custom low-voltage lighting design so that the garden would present nicely on the hillside at any time of day. With the retaining wall newly secured, we were able to make use of the property to create a fully planted, compelling garden.

The final design blends the history of the property with contemporary garden design, and blends functional entertaining spaces with native, organic reprieves.
